Personally, I find getting text messages on Mac to be annoying and useless. My iPhone tends to be right next to me anyway. Getting messages on Mac is just distracting, and receiving messages from a group text on Mac is the worst. If you want to stop messages on Mac, I have got an awesome tip for you. We’ll quickly turn off iMessages at the source. Here’s how to stop getting messages on Mac.

How to Stop Receiving Messages on Mac

  • On your Mac, open the Messages app.
  • Click Messages in the top bar and select Preferences.

  • The Accounts window will pop up, tap your Apple ID on the left column.
  • Uncheck Enable this account.
