Turn off iPhone’s Live Photos to save storage by Dan Howley

Apple’s Live Photos for the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus are pretty cool. A video and photo in one?!
Sign me up!

The only problem: Live Photos take up twice as much space as regular still shots, with a one-and-a-half-second video tacked on to the beginning and end of each picture you take.

So, to avoid iPhone storage headaches, you’ll to turn Live Photos off. Here’s how.
Open your iPhone camera app.

At the top of the screen, you should see a small icon with three concentric circles.
If it’s yellow, tap it and you’ll have turned off Live Photos.

Because when it comes to phone storage, sometimes you have to choose between cool new features and sufficient space for selfies.
